Sphag

Ok, so I had a cp that croaked last summer but the sphag it was growing in seemed to continue living. Well, I brushed off the snow about three weeks ago and stuffed it under my lights, and it is greening up pretty well (with tiny heads of moss growing now). Has anyone had success in growing sphag? Could you offer any tips? Right now I have it in a glazed drip tray growing on a substrate of peat and sand (mixed 50/50). I know the stuff doesn't like to drown, so I keep the water level about even with the substrate.

This is very very late, but I thought I'd chip in. By now, you're probably getting pretty good growth, but I've found live sphag to grow best when it's kept really wet. In fact, you can take those green growth heads and stick them right into some distilled water. I had a glazed ceramic bowl growing all summer with live sphag, and I just kept it wet right up to the bottoms of the topmost heads. The bottom layers will die off, but the tops stay green and keep spreading. These little patches are great to use as a reservoir to see live LFS into other plants, pots, etc.
