I would avoid chemicals and certainly the dollar store ones and would be ok to use diluted natural ones as long as they don't directly spray onto the orchids or the blooms.

Hi All,
I'd bet a dollar that commercial "in home air freshener sprays" would not be a good idea around my orchids. BUT I have a dog, cat husband and 2 kids so there are days where an air freshener is a good idea
I'm pretty aware of chemical use in my home so I use a homemade (essential oils, vodka, water) air freshener spray. Do you think my homemade version should also be avoided?
Thank you all for your knowledge!
Cari

The good ol' fashioned 2-in-1 gel forms work just as well (like glade and rennuzit). I have me and 4 pets in a small trailer and this is what I have to use and it doesn't seem to phase my orchids one bit. The best thing...you can buy them cheap.
i burn incense. i don;t like those sprays around ME, let alone my garden.
Interesting Coeruleo....I've always been hesitant to use them because I thought the smoke would irritate the orchids. Guess, I can give it a shot. It would be nice to have more smell variety.
Smoke also makes insects leave.
Thanks all!
