Thank you Harvey! I am so excited. They don't do very well here... I guess it is too hot and\or too humid. But this guy is strong!

Well done Natalie! In years past there were several people in this High Desert little village who raised Iris. They can take some cold, dry heat, and our poor alkaline soil. One lady here still raises alot of Iris, beareded and other hybrids for show and sale though even she is getting old and may not be able to keep up with the large amonut of care needed to get a good flower display. Even for her with all the constant watering, fertilizing, and soil amendments she has had some good years and some bad years. My final point here is that your doing real good just to get as far as you have. I have cared for Iris here in New Mexico and in the Bay Area of California with it's mild climate and generally good soil. California was easy compared to here to raise Iris and with alot more blooms each year than New Mexico or Florida I'm sure. AL

very pretty one. I have never seen them grown in pots. Is that what one has to do in Florida to grow them?

    Thank you Ron!
I don't know. I have no choice but to grow in pots for the soil is very poor there... some clay deep in the bottom and magnolia roots covered by bark chips.
