Paph. Gina Short (Paph. Pinocchio x Paph. delenatii)

First blooming of this plant for me and I've been very happy with the results. Three blooms - 10.8 cm and 10.6 cm for the first two blooms and the third is just now opening. It has been suggested that I take it to the AOS judging center this weekend but that would involve a 5 hour trip each way. Although it is beautiful I am hesitant to make the drive but know I'll always wonder how it would have turned out if I don't.

Should I decide to go, any advice on what I should do to prep my plant? Thanks in advance.

First of all, congratulations on an excellent variety. I wouldn't hesitate to bring it to the judging table - you have a winner there! The blooms are well presented on the plant; staking is very well done; nice healthy plant, clean leaves; just be careful on the 5 hour drive and I'm sure you'll be successful on the judging table. BTW great shots of this beautiful paph!!

I thank you both for your comments and encouragement. Tomorrow I'll make the trip to the judging center and see what develops. The third bloom opened Wednesday... I've attached an updated photo for your enjoyment.

My trip to the judging table ends with mixed emotions. My paph was not awarded but was well received and I was given several comments for the next time it blooms. All in all, a valuable learning experience.
