I think that until they have their own root system, they should stay as they are.

I have not given up on this poor moth Phal Orchid. She was given to me In Oct 2013, looking pretty much as the current picture. I have managed to keep her alive and she has only one little small root that appeared in Feb. 2014. In the beginning of first week of May I noticed green growth appearing. On May 17th I looked under the Spanish Moss that I have placed on top of the bark, to a wonderful surprise. I'm assuming these are babies. I'm unsure as to what steps to take with this lovely new growth.
I think that until they have their own root system, they should stay as they are.
Concur with Harvey. leave them there till they grow their own root system.
Thank-you!
