looks like a happy plant... so these can be divided down to just one bulb and still flower on next growth?

I will start with my newest acquisition, Clowesetum Sandy Kasner (Cl. dodsoniana x Ctsm. Alexis Pardo). I won the plant during an orchid auction in March 2014. The largest p-bulbs on the pictures are the back bulbs. Every new growth is significantly smaller than older one.
I had to divide the Clowesetum. Two of the divisions are in spike now.

Wow. great job Natalie. looks very nice. thanks for sharing
PLUMP ANG HAPPY!!! Now who is going to complain on that?
that's cool. someone was asking about that on here and i cautioned them not to in general.... mentioned the normal rule of 3 bulbs for most other orchids. i guess the more mature bulbs of these get really big though, so it kinda makes sense. good to know, since these can become huge! i have one relative of this in spike.
"3 bulbs rule" is good for propagation of Catts, Bulbos etc. If I remember correct, Fred Clarke recommends two bulb divisions for Catasetums ideally. However, even one mature p-bulb is enough. I hope that my plant in spike which lost mother p-bulb is strong enough to bloom. It is only one bulb division now and the growth is still maturing.

I purchased my plant in October 2009. It was a two-bulb division. My plant developed one new growth every year and two new growths in 2013
Fdk. After Dark (Mo. Painted Desert ‘SVO’ HCC/AOS x Ctsm. Donna Wise ‘Kathleen’ AM/AOS),
First bloom. November 2012
December 2013.
Divisions of the same plant today.
It did not bloom last year. I hope that at least one of those divisions will flower this year.
the color on that one is amazing. but i am partial to red orchids!
Great stuff Nat!
Thank you Gents!
