Default divide or just repot cattleya

    Hello-
This guy seems ready to be repotted. My question is should I divide it? It is an older plant. Name: IMG_3659.JPG

I wouldn't do either. It is not at all needing it from what I can see.

If you're going to repot, now is the time, with new root growth. Personally, I would repot now. The next growths will be far outside the pot if you don't. Divide or not depends on your preferences. Keeping a large plant together can give a fantastic bloom display, but your plant has new growth in multiple directions and could certainly be divided in 2 with both halves blooming in season without any set-back.

I agree with Kirk that repotting is a good idea but as for the division..... honestly thats just a matter of what u want to do and I don't believe the plant will mind either way.

I agree with PaphMadMan for the reasons he gives. The medium looks fine but it's crawling out of that pot. I think you could divide if you want (minimum 4 pseudobulbs per division).
