I've just kept it going as it was and am very much enjoying it. When I brought it home, it had that wonderful smell, I'm not so much smelling it now - does it need more light? heat? My sense of smell isn't great though, so that's not why I grow orchids. The flowers just started opening two/three days ago.
It will take a few days for the smell to really get going, it probably just needs a bit of time.

And give yourself some credit for this lovely plant - managing to keep them going is all any of us do

The good news about 'Sharry Baby' is that it is an extremely vigorous plant, easy to grow and has been around long enough that there are clones of it everywhere. It should be easy and inexpensive to get one and fun to grow - my favorite sort of plant! Who knows, maybe the baby one will bloom! They are just happy plants.

Oh wow, great blooming! I didn't realize how tall they actually get. I love the tree like branching, sort of reminiscent of cherry blossoms.

I think I started with a division from a huge mature plant to get that sort of size to it - the nursery I bought it from had about 10 tall, robust divisions blooming away and for sale cheap. They may well be almost like weeds... I've seen 'Sharry Baby' plants a lot smaller than that one blooming nicely.

Carolla, my plant is almost the same size as yours. It started blooming about 2 weeks ago and still flowering. If you don't mind, I 'll post it in this thread.

Isn't it just a wonderful and crazy blooming plant? Certainly one of my favorite for its ease of growth and mad blooming, even though each flower isn't that big, it sure makes up for it! I have a smaller Onc. that is a child of 'Sharry Baby' that is in spike right now too, its bred to be a lot smaller (and it is very compact) and supposed to be similar. I'll post that on in its own thread when it blooms too.

    Unhappy

Totally agree with you, Carol. You did a great job by growing it under light. I grow it under sunlight without any shade.
