Default Cattleya walkeriana var. coerulea 'Terra Azul'

At the Barcelona Orchid Show I also got this Cattleya. It was marked 150 $ but I paid less for it (for about 200 $ I got not less than 15-20 plants; 3 Sedireas, 6 or 7 Cattleya hybrids, two Neofinetias, 2 Dendrobium bracteosum red, 2 Laelia tenebrosa and a few more that I don't remember right now). I have no idea how to take care of it. I just repotted it into medium size Orchiata bark. Any tip will be more than welcome. I wonder if the price tag was real. Is it really worth that much?

A perfect specimen can sell at about $250 but I notice alot of damage to yours which is probably why haggling prices wasn't so hard, lol. But this is indeed considered rare.

I would make sure that it dries well between waterings. Most walkerianas that I have seen in cultivation were mounted. I would imagine that this is most important during the winter period when temperatures are cooler and water can stay in the pots longer. Good air movement is beneficial. Can't wait to see that bloom! It should be very nice.

I keep my Walkeriana's mounted and near the Vanda section so they get plenty of sunlight, water and spraying for bacteria/virus infections. You bought a nice one...color me jealous!
