Clowsia Hybrid Already Sprouted New Growth, Not Yet Dormant

I received a Clowesia Rebecca Northern 'Grapefruit Pink' x Mormodes elegans v alba 'SVO' HCC/AOS free when I ordered 2 mini-hybrid catasetum.

All are nice plants and all still have their leaves. I was expecting that they would have come in without leaves and in their winter dormancy. But that was not the case. So I have watered them once a week since I have had them. They are in sphag and have been crispy dry before I water so far.

But the Clowesia Rebecca Northern 'Grapefruit Pink' x Mormodes elegans v alba 'SVO' HCC/AOS has sprouted 2 new growths at the base of the growth from last year.

What do I do with this? I don't really have a clue. With Catasetum, I understand not to water the new growths till they are a couple inches tall. Is that what I do here? Was expecting this orchid to drop its leaves wrong?

I would bet on those being spikes. I have Rebecca Northen...when it first spiked, I thought the spikes were vegetative. They even grew little roots.

continue to water like what you are doing so far, until all the leaves drop.

for new growth water according to the roots
but
for maturing bulbs, water according to the leaves. ie. no leave = no/minimal watering

Turns out these are inflorescences. And they are still growing, in bud, preparing to flower.

I am glad to have nurtured this to open blossoms. However, I believe that this bloomed female flowers. Somewhat disappointed as this is my first clowesia/catasetum/cynoches to bloom. No fragrance at the times I sniffed them. I don't know but I suspect this plant will always flower female.

Dropping of leaves and dormancy is next. I probably will only water this one or 2 more times before cutting off the water.

hi, congrats on the double spike. and green color tone.
clowesia hybrid produces perfect flower, so there is no sexual dimorphism as seen in catasetum or the cycnoches

maybe, but if the parents are one of those of the cl. warscewiczii or amazonica or the thylaciochila, most of the progeny will be greenish,.
