    Default Flasks

Well, it has been a week since I sowed my orchid seed, and here's what I have. No fuzzy stuff growing all over the insides!!! And in my Laelia anceps flask, there are tiny raised points on the surface of the media. I'm not sure if that is what I am supposed to be seeing. I guess I will have to wait another week to four months to find out.

Well, I'm not hoping for that long, but I realize I should remain realistic. The question is though, how long is too long? When do you give up on a particular flask?

    Default HEY!

YOU CAN ACTUALLYY SEE PALE GREEN VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE!!!

Well, the Laelia flask was the one that seemed to be doing the best, but upon further look today, the Ecyclia has shot past it! Instead of tiny white-ish spots, you can now see light green! And the cool part is, no more trying to look at it through a magnifying glass!

Sorry for my excitement, but these are my first attempts.

    LOL - I understand, Aaron!

When I got a big batch of 'chids from RVO last winter, I remember having a magnifying glass out trying to decide if I was looking at a new root, a new growth, a new spike, or just some orchid zit!
