Walk them to the shower and load up the tub with the plug in. I have 3 gallon water bottles filled with rain water warming in the house. Hit them with a 2 gallon watering can and let them soak for 15 minutes then another 2 gallons. Soak for another 15 minutes then drain. There are about 230 orchids and some epiphyte cacti and such. Start about 6 am and finish around 3 when I have to do them all. I'll have to empty the rain barrels soon so have to start using aquarium water. Good for the fish because then I don't forget to freshen them up and good for the plants because they get some weak fertilizer.

I concur with Kirk!
Such a nice display and plenty of very healthy orchids
Thank you Eric! I do reasonably well with everything but the Oncidium alliance. The new grow room will be far more humid then our living space. Giving up on them if they don't do well down there.
Before you give up on them try the water culture technique. Oncids respond the best. I gave up on quite a few of mine which I now regret. Once I took the keepers out of media and kept them with about a 1/4 of the roots always in rain water they turned around. I am getting roots, fat pbs and spikes.
Thanks Karen! Worth a try! I used to stand their pots in a vase filled with water but roots not quite touching the surface. Don't know why I stopped doing that.
What I was doing before worked quite well. That's why I can't figure out why I changed it. Not planning on using media this time. Just a mesh pot that fits the top of the round glass bowl with a few inches to spare in the bottom. They'll also be going in my new room where the humidity will be very high. Our the door if I start seeing too many brown spots again!
