Smile all set for winter plus

my greenhouse is bubble wrapped ready for winter its running about 5 degrees celcius warmer than the outside temp at the moment. I have moved my cymbidiums and dend speciosums into the green house for winter and about to start the dry rest for my dend nobiles until September I hope I get better results this spring than I did last spring. the pots in the photos are the keikis I removed from my nobiles from last summer. Now I have more than i can poke a stick at.Name: 2015-05-02 10.00.16.jpg

    Good luck!

My first dry resting of dens was last Oct- Feb. I had OK results and flowers on many of mine that did over winter. Not all though. I will be even more stingy with water next winter on mine and encourage you to resist watering as much as you can.

My superbum, parishii, Little Sweet Scent and Nestor 'Sweet Fragrance' got watered 3 times and I think that was too many times for them. Next winter, I may not water at all. Mist a couple of times only.

I sent BD a couple pots of keikis this spring.

Same with me with me as well. Last year was the first and I just misted the deciduous dendrobiums once a week or once in two weeks. I bloomed many species. wishing you all the very best

I love looking at your grow space, its winter here for us too. Will start migrating the palnts inddors soon but its still double digits here in the night so i thought they can harden up a bit first abd get more light, before the 4 month hibernation sets in.

thanx 78Terp I know its going to be hard. It goes against everything I've learnt about growing plants and everything I've learnt on how to kill them but I can save water as well as the next bloke. I think you have to remember the growth that has been put on last summer is all towards flowers next summer.
