notifications alert?

Is there is a notifications alert on the top of the page or does it only go via your email? I opted not to have notifications via my email as it is a work email, should I create a dedicated email address for this page for better access?

There is a notifications alert for private messages, visitor messages, and likes at the very top right side of your screen when logged into the site. This will not notify you of new responses to your threads or posts. Those notifications go to your e-mail address. In order to be alerted about new responses you would need an e-mail address that can accept the notifications from the forum. The forum software, by default, sends notifications directly to your e-mail address unless you change that option in your Settings page.
