Default When to apply keiki paste on spike?

So I have a blooming white phal that I wanted to try the keiki paste on. But when should I put the keiki paste? Should I wait for the flowers to fall off or it doesn't really matter? I kinda didn't want to induce the phal to lose its flowers ( if that's what the keiki paste would do..)

Some sources say apply when last flower opens, others when all flowers fell off. I tried both - both time got another flower spike.
Someone here said if plant get good light it will turn into spike if not enough light you will get keiki.

Interesting, thanks Svetlana for sharing. I didn't know a new spike could come out of the keiki paste. I think I might put the keiki paste soon
