Default What type of orchid is this?

I've had this orchid for quite some time now. I have not been able to find out anything about it. Is any one familiar with it? Epi? Den? Brassiavola? Am I completely way off the field?

It should be a terete Vanda, know as Papilionanthe. Now Papilionanthe teres is the most common with its hybrid Miss Joaquim. A lot of sun to flower!

I agree with Papilionanthe, and Miss Joachim is probably the best guess simply because it is most commonly seen. There are only about 12 species, and only 4 have gone into about 20 registered hybrids. Many of the hybrids are rather similar. You will have to get it to flower to be sure, and even then a precise identification of a hybrid might not be possible. Gradually get it used to brighter sun than you've ever grown any orchid in. Intermediate temps for now, but that might change if you can narrow it down to a particular species or hybrid when it flowers.

Wow guys! Thanks, just with the info you have given me it has shed some light on this interesting journey. Well, think it may not be a hybrid, but them again. I took a cutting from my aunt’s backyard in Costa Rica 7 years ago and I have been babying it since. I came very close to losing it about 5 years back. All other plants that I purchased and brought at the same time have acclimated and started blooming a couple of years back, but not this one. With the names you gave me just found a previous post from “Angela” which has a picture of the exact flower that this plant had at my aunts. Maybe it does need some sun. I’m just a little paranoid since I almost lost it one. But I rather see it happy in bloom that secluded in my greenhouse. Thanks you for all your help.
