Dendrobium Parishii

This Den did not bloom but for one.. Maybe not enough light. Grown in greenhouse in a basket.

I got 2 flowers on my den parishii. IMO, for me at least, too much water during the winter rest.

But is there any better scent than this one?

watering dens in winter is difficult because it is hard to determine at what point the plant could use the water. I gather once a week if no sign of root growth.

I only watered 3 times during the winter rest period. I should have only misted them occasionally. At least that is what I am going to do this winter.

In their natural habitat, most of the dendrobiums that belong to section dendrobium grow on deciduous trees and receive higher light and dew and absolutely no rains. We should follow the same in our culture, expose them to slightly higher light and then mist water once a week or so.

I read that Dens need higher light in winter. I am wondering how to do this when generally winter days do not produce greater light than summer. I am wondering how you are planning to give them higher light? Also, some of my larger Dens are getting quite a bit of light now. I don't see them getting more light in the winter other than maybe a different kind of light. Your thoughts????

I grow most of the dendrobiums exposed to full sun ( receive about 3-4 hours every day in Summer). In winters angle of the sun varies and gets more light (4-5 hours)
