Question Cinnamomum zeylanicum - anyone grow one of these?

Anyone here grow a Cinnamomum zeylanicum? I read this article today about growing a cinnamon tree and thought that I would like to give it a shot. I looked online and found some places selling them, but they are all so expensive. I was hoping to hear from someone who grows one so I can see if it is worth the cost. Please let me know.

    cheers,
    BD

We have birds around here all the time dropping cinnamon and allspice seeds, and they just grow with no special attention. I dug one up, and put it in a pot until it was about 1 1/2 ft tall, then put it in the back yard. After it was 15 ft, the 'ass-ociation' made me cut it down. I never did anything special, and it never had any pest problems (probably due to the oil in the plant giving it that special scent) so I couldn't offer much info.

I'm really wanting to grow one of these. I read that the leaves can also be used as tea. I love plants. I should probably live in Hawaii too so I can grow everything I want to grow. lol!!

    cheers,
