    Default Dendrobium vimalamitra "prolific"

I just purchased a Dendrobium vimalamitra "prolific" from a local nursery. It was located outside in shade/bright light, but with little else to go with on care. I live in the 8a growing season (Texas Hill Country).

Does anyone have this plant and if so what are the best growing conditions for it?

I looked up your plant and it looks like a standard dendrobium hybrid. I grow mine in clay pots because they are heavy and keep the tall plants from toppling over every time the wind blows. I use broken pots inside to add even more weight the larger they grow, with pine bark. I put mine in the highest light possible with a lace sheer or palm branch to diffuse the hottest mid day sun. And they like fertilizer. When they aren't growing you can slow down on water until you get a new lead. Then I pick up on watering again. If you accidentally overwater and the canes rot, throw them under a bench and in a month or two you can tie the new keikeis to a tree with some shade. Good luck...sounds like a pretty one.
