I got this from a Taiwan vendor at Tamiami show last January. I had hoped for more then just 1 bloom but I will gladly take what I can get as I think it is a real BEAUTY! I hope they will be at the next Tamiami show next month as I would like to pick up a couple more of this species.

Zain, I am about the same atmosphere as you have but all of my Catasetum/Cycnoches except 1 did not do well this season, I think it was the media I potted them in last spring, I won't make that mistake a second time next spring, thanks!
Jack, what media did you put them in?
Karin, I got my first Catasetum/Cycnoches 2 years ago while they were in their winter rest, when I did pot them I used sphagnum moss and got nice blooms, I always remove mine at the end of the blooming season and leave them in the pot they were potted in bare root till spring. This past year I used a media for Paphiopedilum's and they have not done well at all this season, when I repot in the spring they will go back into the sphagnum moss with a little charcoal, I am hoping that is what they missed this year and will perform better next season.
I have 10 Catasetum alliance orchids. 9 are in sphag and 1 bark.
I will probably move the one in bark to sphag this spring. It is my Cycnoches Wine Delight 'Jem' and it didn't boom on either of the 2 new, fat pbs it grew this year.
I have 2 others that didn't bloom but I believe it was my fault for watering too soon in the spring. The new roots were not long enough when I started watering.
