    Default Dendrobium secundum var.alba

Dendrobium secundum var.alba. It grows high up in the shade house and spikes were in every direction. was difficult to get it down to do a photo shoot.

Nicely done Sriram! I just got one of these and the red one in January, I doubt I will have any blooms this year but hope to next year on both of them.

I will not be upset if I get blooms this year, I hope you are right! I got mine bare root and potted them in a shallow 4 in clay pot with clay pellets, charcoal and sponge rock, they are hanging in my second shade house that currently has 70% shade cloth but because this shed house is under my BIG mango tree I think that is too much so I have ordered 50% shade cloth that should be here in a couple of weeks.

What I observe is that this species does not put out too much of roots and likes heat and sunlight.Would not bloom if the light is not sufficient. It can grow very tall. Canes in mine are around 40 inches. Once it starts a new growth, fertilize heavily and it would grow at an amazing speed.

Nice blooming! To get a good blooming of secundum, it needs a rather dry rest. Definitely a light and fertilizer hog too, when in growth.
