Phals that have Phal equestris as a parent often do have multiple basal keikis. I bought one from the grocery that has 7 now. And they prefer to stay together than be broken up, I hear.

Do not wait to repot one in Miracle Gro bark! all mines and friend's ones died in miracle grow bark.... You can repot even when in bloom. i did it few times and no problem , not even one flower was lost

Svetlana has had bad experiences with Miracle Gro Bark. I would be cautious using it.

Thanks both of you. Looks like I have another chore to add to my list for this afternoon after my nap. At the time the Miracle-Gro was the only thing I could find until a local nursery got me some Rexius.

I lost 2 Phals to the Miracle Gro bark myself, including one I'd had for 35 years and had used the flowers for my wedding... I count myself as having had a bad experience with it too!

I just finished repotting the last six this morning Carol and the Miracle-Gro looked and smelled like nothing but potting soil. I have some bags left from when I bought it I guess I can use it as mulch for the Rose of Sharon bushes seedlings I just planted.

    I'm sure that'd be fine.
