    Cymbidium aloifolium in bloom. bought this as a small plant 4 years back and blooming first time.

    Nice! Sometimes when you buy an orchid (without flowers), you have no idea how old they are.
    ..and it can take a few years before you see them bloom.

    I purchase a few cattleyas in 2" pots a while back and some of them are still NOT in bloom.
    LOL! and at my age at 74+, I may not see them in bloom!

    I asked my son what he's gonna do when I pass on ... and he said he would bury all orchids with me, cause he doesn't want to take care of them all ...LOL!

    Beautiful. I have about 10 to 12 plants. flowers every year and get pollinated by bees. Have lots of pods right now. the funny thing is this is a weed for me. The seeds disperse and i have small saplings coming up everywhere in my green house. Gave away lots of them to friends this year.

    I am the same way but only 68, but I would still like to see them all bloom before I leave this earth!
