Ok, I start to work, I will insert as soon as a tutorial on the cultivation and the sphagnum moss.
I find sphagnum to be particularly easy to cultivate:
- Fill a plastic container with dried sphagnum.
- Moisten it with pure water.
- keep it in bright light and keep it constantly moist.
There are viable spores in probably all dried sphagnums, and while slow, they will germinate and grow. If you use it as a potting medium, the living fibers keep themselves fluffy and airy, but they don't take well to excessive dissolved solids, so go very lightly with the fertilizer.
Not so easy, in Italy is extremely protected, my spanning over 30 years, when the sfagneta is exhausted him replanted and renovated, the cultivation on rafts of floating sphagnum peat, never fertilize and water by reverse osmosis 50ppm = 0, 1 s / cm, for those interested I'll write a tutorial with instructions on how you cultivate I
