I was kind of responding to Traci's questions.

You can use the reflectors but the tombstones that the lights hook into have to be the right kind. Some companies supply the right kind and all you have to do is replace them. There are some LED bulbs that have ends that are supposed to work with either kind but I saw lots of negative reviews for them. You do just remove the ballast and wiring to the ballast. I looked at a lot of information on it when trying to figure out out to do with 3 T8 reflectors that hold two bulbs and the ballasts and tombstones cannot be replaced and two T5 reflectors that hold 4 bulbs with defective tombstones. I found it all to be very confusing. But, there is one kind of fixture that says that it can easily be converted to LED. If I invest in any more reflectors I will get those.

Thank You KeikiMe! Welcome to the forum! I've had to make a few changes and have to make some major ones when my plants go outside for the summer but overall I'm happy with it. You should go to the link below and tell us a bit about yourself

That's wonderful Chris. It makes me think about my basement where I have most of my orchids. I really have to do something to accommodate more plants.

Thanks Arnie! It didn't cost too much. Almost everything came from reuse centers, yard sales and thrift shops over a two year period. Best thing is you get to control the environment. I did make a few mistakes but I guess thats to be expected the 1st time.

Thank you! Another thing i didn't foresee. Any spikes near the green walls are growing toward those walls.
