When you change mediums the old roots almost always die. As long as its growing new ones there is probably nothing to worry about but posting a picture would help to be sure. Welcome back to the forum by the way![]()

I have had this orchid in LECA pepples for about a year now and it is doing the same thing as it did in the bark mix. Plenty of new roots, but many many more dead roots. I just spent a good hour, untangling and clipping the dead roots off.
Now, what next. Should I mix up more bark mix and repot in that. what is making the roots rot and die. I would say too moist, but not so in LECA pebbles

It has been so long since I last posted a picture, and the notification said the pic is too large.(stomping on the computer!)
Complete agreement there. I would add that the Laelia side of the family might make it resent root disturbance more than some. Keep it in fast draining, well aerated media and let dry between waterings, and don't repot more than absolutely necessary.
Small note on the name. The official registration was tweaked a while ago when the change from Lc. to Lnt. was made, and it is no longer hyphenated. Lnt. Bowrialbida.
