    Chris,
They are like spots (pimples - they are elevated from the surface of the leaf). I examined today carefully with a magnifying lens and again I didn't see any bugs.

Thank you everybody for you advice.
I checked again today with a magnifying lens and there are no sign of mite or any other tiny bug.
Since Chris asked if the spots, they are not dents (holes) that form my research it is usually the effect from mite infection, but they are like pimple (the are elevating form the surface of the leaf).

Most of the symptoms look like spider mite - the rusty color on the dying leaves and the stickiness. The false spider mite which is very common on phals are tiny - measured in tenths of a millimeter. You may not be able to see them with a weak magnifying glass. They do not spin a web which is why they are called a false spider mite. You may not even see very many of them in spite of the damage they are doing.

The raised pimples are unusual. It may be a secondary infection, either fungal or even a virus which invades the wounds the mite makes to suck the leaf juices. It would be wise to consider it a false spider mite based on the symptoms and at least keep the sick ones carefully isolated while you treat for it. It won't kill the orchid to treat for mites. You can easily transfer the mites to other phals, orchids and plants.

    Hi Christos,

did you have any success treating this disease?

I am facing the very same thing on my 3 orchids. It started on the oldest one of them and spread to the other two. And as you described neither I can see any bugs or any other insects on them. It looks like a bacterial or viral infection.
Even though the orchid is ready to bloom, most of the buds get dry and fall off closed and very underdeveloped. I get sticky drops on the leaves as well with those dots and strange streaks across the leaves. I am starting to be a bit desperate.
What did you do if you have been successfull?

Thank you very much in advance

(sorry for any mistakes in my post - I am not a native speaker)
