Default Could This Be a Paph Spike?

    Hello friends,

I got my very first ever paphiopedilum this past May (it's a Paph. Makuli 'Maggie' CCE/AOS x Paph. Raisin Pie 'Greensleeves'). This guy has literally done nothing since I got it and the seller said it's about 12-18 months away from blooming.

Well about 2 weeks ago, I noticed a leaf-like growth from the crown. Then today, upon closer inspection, I noticed there is another growth in addition to that - but this one is different... it's fuzzy! Could this be a bud/spike or am I just getting my hopes up?
