Default What are best conditions for a Cattleya Misty blue

    Hi all!
I have a Cattleya Misty blue and I have several questions about it. First of all, I leave near Boston, Massachusetts. I have it in a south window with indirect sun all day.
    1. what are the best conditions to make it bloom? Type of light and amount of water...
    2. When does it usually bloom? Does it have a specific season for blooming? How often does it bloom?
Thank you for all your help!

As I grow outdoors I can only tell you how I grow mine, keeping them indoors like you do someone else will have to answer for that. They do like very bright filtered light, I water every 3 days and fertilize during the growing period every week, during the late fall and winter I only fertilize every 2 weeks. As to when do they bloom, if mature enough usually every time you get a mature new psedobulbs, some of mine will bloom twice a year some only once a year.

There is no registered hybrid in the Cattleya alliance named Misty Blue. Do you have any additional information about that name or the parents of the cross? Without being able to identify the hybrid specifically it is only possible to tell you to follow general Cattleya hybrid instructions. The south window with indirect sun may or may not be enough light.

You’re welcome. I’m sure PaphMadMan will chime in with cultural info.
