Pet catfish! How cool! Where did you get the originals? Your pond is a work of art and pretty swank quarters for your catfishies. Does it freeze in the winter?

Those fish aren't so dumb. They know what we're all thinking. That's why they don't greet strangers with big sloppy kisses! Ugh...the thought!
Now what did I do with my cajun spices...

I too, am a bit of a fish nut, or atleast used to be. I was into cichlids, particularly, and raised a tiger oscar (meanest thing you'd ever see) to 14.5", and sometimes i thought, mmmmm baaasssssss. But alas, i did not cook my beloved Gus, although he did eat mice like they were happy meals!
Seriously though, BD, thats really cool.
Thanks, Mehera. We have been growing them since we moved to Arkansas in 1996. The pond took a lot of work. It does freeze in the winter, but not for long and not thick enough to walk upon. There is a thread about the fountain on here somewhere if you want to see more photos and read about how we built it.Originally Posted by Mehera

BD--I did go look up the thread about the construction of your pond (lake?). Amazing! I used to live in Missouri and I'm imagining all the poison ivy and snakes you had to deal with--and probably plenty of chiggers. What a job!

It was a lot of work, but it is such a pleasure. The sound of the water rushing over the fall is amazing. At night we have lights that uplight the statue and side light the waterfall. Really pretty. And, it keeps the lake healthy by helping add oxygen back to the water.Originally Posted by Mehera
