Phrag. Les Dirroulles

My plant has tall leaves and several new growths, but has not bloomed in 3 yrs. Can I take it out of the pot and look at the roots? Maybe repot? It sits in 2" water. Please advise about media and fertilizer.Can I use city water left standing for 2hrs.?

Looks your plant quite happy with you as Chris said photo always the best for us to give some opinion. For Phrags I always use a combination of pumice stones, lava rocks and perlite so far so good.

• Where do you live?
• Assuming the plant is grown by a window, what direction does it face?
• What are your day and night temperatures?
• What formula fertilizer are you using, how much per gallon, and how often?

I assume your question about the water is concerned about chlorine. If so, 2 hours is doing nothing. Standing a day or two is more likely necessary.

I have a hunch hard water and not enough light is the answer to my problem. During the winter, they grow on a west facing windowsill, with a l bulb growing light 2 feet above. The plants are outside during the summer on a protected, shaded patio, facing east, as soon as night temps rise to 50-65 deg. and stay there until temp dips again to 50 (or a few degrees lower). The humidity is very low during the summer - another problem.
I suppose, I should give up getting 2 Intergenerics, 1 phrag. schlimmi, 1 phrag Les Dirroulles, 1 odontoglossum to bloom. Judging by the weather conditions, best in my area are phals, dens, cattlaya and cymbidiums.
Please advice how to post photos.
