A peloric form, or perhaps semi-peloric - having 3 lips. A little shorter in canes height than the pure or type of this species, but quite vigorous. This particular plant was one division from a plant which grew a little too large for me, and now maybe in its third or fourth year in the same compost, and hence perhaps not as vigorous as it might be. I shall repot, washing out the old compost so as to try and keep to the same pot size, or at any rate go up as little as possible, and reinvigorate the plant. Flowers a month after the type species.

I don't normally like peloric's but this one is really nice! So many nobile to re-pot.

It is the winter rest that matters for flowers with so many dendrobiums including this one. I Dry off as t he growths complete in September, and put in a cold frame, heated to a minimum of about 6 degrees C.
In fact the temperature was usually a bit higher ( 7,8 ) but rarely into double figures. I brought back into the greenhouse just before Christmas, but have not yet started watering. I can see the new growths just starting, and will water when they are a centimetre high - and by May will be soaking them every day.
I hope this helps, Nora . Btw my dendrobiums are now declared to be a UK. National Collection...( see Plant Heritage, UK ) . Which is prestigious, but not of any other significance.

It would take up too much space here to answer, but if you go to nccpg.com web site, and choose Home from the tabs, you get the full story.
