    Default Dendrobium lindleyii/aggregatum

My goal - to produce more than 2 spikes. For years this one has given 2 small spikes. I'm not really complaining because they are pretty little things, but I must not be giving it what it needs. It gets filtered sunlight, I gave it a bit of a rest in the winter. Any suggestions?

Your climate is a tad different and the sunlight is stronger but mine are in full morning and evening sun while they're outside, filtered at mid day. Always enjoy seeing lindleyii in bloom!

Sheryl. I have 2 plants that I have had for several years that have grown in NH and now here in the Keys.
They are both mounted, of equal size and I grow them side by side.
For the first time ever I got 3 nice spikes with a total of probably 30 flowers on one plant and zippo on the second plant.
If I ever figure this game out, I'll let you know.

Me too! Still trying to figure out why this happens when you see what is out there in other area's. I have decided it has a lot to do with the winter rest, you were much colder then I was this past winter but we did have colder weather then we have had in several years which I think I am beginning to agree that it is the cold they get with no water or fertilizer, late last fall I was thinking of putting some of then in my refrigerator for a day or two every week to see if that would help. I have gotten much better results on some that have not done well the past few years but I have had 2 Dendrobiums that only gave me few blooms or spikes, 1 I have only 1 bloom, I got just the right amount of cold for some of mine which I am sure we will not get again for awhile, but if we do fine by me I can survive a little cold! So it is not you Sheryl and if you figure it out let us know!
