Thanks Chris! Yes I have put over half of my bulbos that had been mounted into pots, I was not happy with what I was getting in growth and blooms while mounted. I did a little research on them in Emily Siegerist "Bulbophyllums and Their Allies" book and found the ones she things should be in pots instead of mounted, I have seen almost instant progress in most of them so far so glad I did, only used about 4K of sphagnum to get them all done! I think I am going to be very glad I did!

Thanks Nora! What is yours potted in? I have learned thru the grapevine that this one really likes to be mounted on cork laying flat, I did not do this to mine when I repotted 2 months ago but I am going to move it to the cork after the bloom is done!

Sheryl, Mine is potted with moss in a plastic pot, not mounted. This will be a challenge if it must be mounted since I don't have a place for that. However, this does sound reasonable if it only likes to be mounted.

Nora, if you don't have a way to keep the mount then the plastic w/sphag might work, mine is currently in a clap pot w/sphag and it did bloom, I have recently heard they do better on mounts but that is not to say it won't boom! How much light does your get?

I don't give it full day sun, most likely this is the reason.
