Bought these 2 plants recently. The white was advertised in a Facebook group by a very experienced grower. Place a bid by PM direct to him. I couldn't resist & posted a $$$.
Much quicker than I thought, the owner tells me the bid was the 1st received & was happy. He then tells the pink one, a plant was also available. I said I'd have the pink one if a high bid was received for the white. Ok, some few hours later, before the auction time was due to end, a message arrives saying that the owner had spoke with his wife (whom I don't know) & she suggested strongly !! that he sell me BOTH plants for not that much more than I offered for the white. I had to have a very deep long think about for all of 5 seconds before I said OK.
Worst part, a good friend & fellow Judge & Cattleya grower was at work (Policeman) & couldn't get to bid before it was marked SOLD. He was quite agitated when I spoke to him & asked How quick do you have to be. My ear was burning when I told him I bought it. He calmed down enough to say he would buy it from me with a profit margin the next day. That didn't work but I have promised him 1/2 when I divide it.
