I guess it depends on what you are repotting. I know there are some threads out there that cover repotting of various species.. Also check the ask the Senior Members column.
In the meantime, what are you trying to repot ?

A while ago someone suggested starting several threads about repotting different orchids. I remember reading it, but today I was looking for just such a thread and couldn't find anything. Did this idea ever take off? Is there somewhere I can look on the forum specifically for repotting advice? if not, can I vote that such a thread would be a great help. thanks

I have several that I bought in plastic pots. They have now bloomed out and I'm itching to get them out of that plastic. Let's see, three Catts., my colmanera wildcat (sp?), and two brassia's (though I have a pretty good idea how to work with them) and two Phal's (though i've done them before too). I'm pretty clear on how to go about repotting, as I've done it a few times now, but the one thing I haven't really explored is differences in potting media and what media goes with what plant. Up until now I've used the "all in one" phal mix that you can get at any boxstore-type store and Spag. Moss, but I'd like to hone my skills further. I have just purchased some coconut husks and Aliflor Orchid Potting Media SMALL Grade. So, that's what I'm working on. Any suggestions? Is it all trial and error? thanks for your help
