An old favourite in this group. I have several plants of several slightly different clones. One is almost white, which I call 'Blanche' , another has very dark spots, and this shown here is the more or less bog standard version, often sold as 'Morning Joy'.
A good flowering this time, which is interesting because I repotted this plant last year in rather dirty medium bark, and it has been a bit neglected . Certainly kept a lot dryer than usual. And here it is, with a spike of 5 flowers ( which is about as good as it gets with this grex) and jolly good flowers too. A shade over 13 cm north south, and 10 east-west - that is well over 5 inches x 4 inches. Sometimes I think "I can't win" although perversely it seems I can, by not trying !

Nice one Geoff! I guess they are sometimes trying to tell us that in the wild no ones takes care of them like we do when we have them, but yet they survive!

Beautiful blooming. I've been babying mine, all repotted in kiwi bark and clay pots this summer. Plenty of water to keep pushing growth in the heat. I neglect them for a day here and there. Maybe I need to do it more often!

I also have this plant (the 'Morning Joy' clone) and it is also one of my favorites. Mine is in spike right now, and it looks like it will have five flowers. There were two spikes, but something ate one of them It seems like this one always has two spikes on each growth, which is nice. It's a very good plant, and the flowers are huge for the size of the plant.
