Next thing you should see (if not already there) is a stem a little thicker than a pencil growing straight up (support would be nice, at this time). Once it has peaked (it will put up taller and taller growths each time), it will begin to flatten out on top (like a cobra), and form a thick leaf. The notches will put out more leaves. Once those new leaves mature, it may bloom again. Mine does it a few times each year. After about 2 years the new stem will be about as thick as your finger (unless you have big fingers) because the weight of the leaves on top will be such that it needs to be able to support them. I've seen tomato cages used to support some of the growth, but I've also seen large plants with no external support, too.
The blooms are lightly scented, too. We've had about 12 open at once about a month ago, and the air was filled with a sweet scent.
