    Default Guarianthe (Cattleya) bowringiana

Thought I would share a photography insight that I'm sure the experts here figured out a long time ago.

Took the first 2 pictures in bright light but with no flash and the last pic same site with flash. Only by using flash can you get the camera to "see" the true color with is the purple. And even that is really not quite as vivid as in real life but the real flower is definitely NOT pink. This was with an iPhone camera.

Anyway, Guarianthe/Cattleya (choose your genus) bowringiana. An old favorite!

Yeah, the sensor and its electronics have fixed settings for the white balance and color sensitivity. Start messing with the light source and/or overall color of the frame, and you can get different results.

Have been playing around with some post processing filters and came up with best representation of actual color so far.
This in indoors with natural light. It really is a stunning color.

    Stunning flowers indeed.
What iPhone did you use? The picture quality doesn't reach up to my expectation.

    It's an older 5S Azizan.
I know the camera isn't anywhere near as good as newer phones but I like the smaller size

I like smaller size phone too! Glad to know I'm not the only one. Phone designs are getting bigger nowadays, not a fan of that.
