The first one is Durigan "Aphrodite". Good name for a beautiful flower. I have several other varieties of Durigan - several dozen have been awarded, and basically they are all the same shape and spots ( some a few more or less, some bigger , some smaller -all this about the spots the actual flower dimenions seem the same, and the background colour varies all over the place. No true green or yellow, but brownish, pinkish, greenish etc etc. And you can see pics on Orchidwiz sometimes of all of these , and all labelled as the same variety !

And btw, I posted pics of Durigan "Hercules" on 7th November - flowers still good on 12th December. So a real long lasting flower. A joy to have in the collection.

The second flowering plant here was bought as C.Miriam Suzuki - which clearly it isn't - it is another Durigan - might be var. "gemini" or there again might not be.. I have e-mailed the dealer asking for a true Miriam Suzuki and will see what answer I get back about this one.

I have bought a lot ofcattleyas in the last year or so because after Brexit importing plants will be too expensive to contemplate.
Naturally things go wrong occasionally, and it is interesting to see whathappenswhen they do.
My purchases have been from one dealer in each of three South American countries. In this case, with the Durigans, I have already had an apology and a promise of the correct plant being included in my next delivery ( due a week before Brexit).
In a second case, a different dealer, my last delivery was two plants short. I tild them, immediately had an offerof sending replacements if an when I reordered ( btw I have being buying from these three dealers for at least 20 years, and am well known to them all ) or an immediate credit. I chose that, and the refund was in my bank account the nextday.
The third case : two plants out of ten in the last delivery were very poor. Blackened shrivelled “new growths” etc. I told them, had no reply, reminded, and..... silence. I won’t buy from them again.
