Encyclia Pseudobulb

I'm almost as excited to see the size of this pseudobulb as I am over a new bloom.
This was one of those "bag" orchids I bought last July.

The leaves have been purple for most of it's life no matter where I locate it in the greenhouse.
I know it's normally a sign of stress but not sure how concerned I should be.

Hope some Encyclia grower will give some advice. But it does look like a yummy eggplant.

The purple color is not likely a sign of stress. In most plants, it is an indication that it has been getting a lot of light - consider the color to be a "tan" - but it can also be an indication of intense color in the flowers, as well. Purple color can be an indicator of a potassium deficiency in some plants, but that is very rare in slow-growing plants like orchids. Frankly, aswell as that is growing, I think you have nothing to worry about.
