    Default New growing house.

My new growing house for the Orchids. I am in a mind puzzle atm on whether I use it for seedlings, compots, 50mm to 100mm pot size plants. One area for purely growing the small stuff OR because of the great light factor & temperature factor even without heating (sun doing that enough) Heading for 43c or 109.4f on Friday !!!!
Not quite finished, roof & one side to be completed, door to be added & benching.
Benching is ready, from old orchid house.
Power plus heating to be added down the track, funds getting depleted quickly.

Metric size is 4.5mts wide by 6mtrs long, walls 2.4mtrs.

Yes, a small amount of gap at gable, full length. I will be lining it with plastic which will only vent the gap between lining & roof.
External air will be pumped in during summer for cooling. Air will be recycled in winter with heating but there will be enough ventilation be available for exchanged when all closed up. Air circulation by fan will be operating 24/7 anyway.

Wish I had your space! My little greenhouse hit 120 F on the floor one day last September. Thermometer only goes to that so no idea how hot it was at the top. Luckily the plants weren't inside yet.

Agree with Ray, Aluminet shade cloth lowered the temperature in my greenhouse noticeably this past summer.
If you message me I'll share the best price supplier I found.

Looks great, Roy! We actually just finished a move and I built a new (unusual) greenhouse. I took lots of photos along the way and will create a post to share them when time allows. I'm about to start a new job, so lots of prep for that right now. Good growing!!

    cheers,
    BD

A new house can take some thought, this one is all mine using some A frames I had. The old one was my design but modification to an existing design. This it though, no more. I have plenty of space but not enough me.
Temp's heading up quickly, 9.30am here & temps hitting the 100f already in some places in the state. It's "%^^&" warm outside where I am also.

I have friends who use the shade cloth Ray spoke of, not sure what the cost of it over there is but over here Its way up there. Really stretch the wallet just for new house let alone old one. Would love to use it but cost too much.
