Fancy a trip to UK - our 60th anniversary show in Highcliffe Castle....

30th and 31st March 2019 - at a castle a couple of miles from where I live - on the south coast of England, near Bournemouth.
Is expected to be a big do - displays from several of the leading UK orchid Societies, also orchid dealers from around the world ( I have just done a pre-order with one of them, coming from Taiwan ). The RHS Orchid Committee will be holding a judging session ( for AM, FCC etc - medal judging).

Mostly carttleyas, a few dendrobiums, every one of their renantheras ( both, ha-ha) a couple of zygos, and one cymbidium. They had a lot of other stuff which I am not into, like phals, and catasetoides...
Very good prices , but size not stated (!) so a bit of a gamble. But then, it is cash on delivery, so no real risk. No like, no buy !

I had the BBC here this morning - a team of three, interviewing me in my greenhouse, making a feature which they say they will edit to 2 ½ minutes to show on UK tv in the coming week, also a voice only version for local radio - which the Society hope will stimulate interest for the show.
The Prodiucer said I am a star, my Society propose an Oscar, my head is too big to pass through the greenhouse doors, and all you lot had better take off your hats and bow when you speak to me in the future...

All great fun, too.

When I take my missus to the preview I shall decorate her wheelchair with a bouquet. If only I knew how to make a lei ( big dangly necklace of flowers - was that the right word ? ) out of surplus blossoms...
