Thought you may like to see 2 of my Catts I have a dilemma over, do I just cut out the original pot hidden under the roots or just take to them with a knife &/or secateurs & end up with a shed load of plants, most of which would be for sale.

Wow. I’m with Mike. Document the affair. What ginormous plants!

I would be tempted to just ram a good length of stout wire through the center and hang them. Nice specimens
Both species, the one on the right I have another plant of about the same size which isn't as over the pot as this one, maybe easier to get to specimen. This one I will break & sell off, need the money. The other I want to break, need more plants of it for breeding & sales. More of a trim up than a total demolishing.
I've faced that decision a couple times on big specimen plants and chickened out.
Small plants? no problem chopping them.
I'm always afraid I'll kill the big ones and if I did, I couldn't live with myself.
I think it's got something to do with staring at it and thinking 'where the ***** do I start?'
So I just go find a bigger pot (plastic) and keep up-potting.
And now no one ever sees those plants but me because they are too huge to move.
Be brave Roy! Maybe it will encourage me to do it.
The days of specimen plants for me is over unless I remember to control its growth rate in the pot ie, make sure it doesn't climb out like these. I may just trim them up around the edges 1st, then see where I go from there. I'll try to remember to take pics while I go... Now what was it I had to remember ????????????????![]()
This is the source of $$$$ Roy I will cut and put into the new pots for trade ...your Catts really acclimatized very well in your garden.
The $$$$ is the thing Zain, set up some nice divisions & sell them off to growers. Both plants easy to grow & flower. I can use the money for more plants or help pay for the new one just built.
