    Default cattleya light needs

So last year I bought my first cattleya. It's a baby, and is not supposed to bloom for 2-4 years, but growth has been good. I repotted this fall because the new growth was pressing against the pot. It is loosing some of the old leaves which doesn't worry me much as the new growth is strong and healthy. But, what leaf color do you aim for in growing cattleyas? Mine are a light yellow/green and very stiff. Thinking we need a touch less light, but what confuses me is that it is growing in the same south window as my oncidium/odontoglossum/brassia intergenetics and my trichopilia and all are perfectly content with the light.

Better post a picture...some of my catts handle the light better than others but I think they usually adapt as long as the light isn't too intense.
That's a novice opinion, we have some pros here that will surely give you a more expert opinion.
The AOS website has some good webinar recordings on cattleya you might want to check out also.

Most Catts. want pretty bright light equal to or even greater than your intergenerics.
Understanding what species are in the background of your plant will lead you to the right answer.
As a general rule of thumb though, if the leaves are a lighter green then you are getting good light as long as you are not getting any sunburn spots.
Most (not all) Catts. that are dark green don't bloom well and the major reason is they are not getting enough light.

In the growing/culture section you will see my new Orchid house, Catts only. It is stinking hot down under here & I haven't put shade cloth up at all, except over a vent. It was just right for the sunlight to come thru & burn some leaves. Maximum light without burning or turning the leaves yellow.

No burn spots, so maybe ok. Just a little yellow for my comfort. Can try to post pic but it's not an easy thing to do with no internet at home or cell :/
