Nah, if it's firm, then it is probably just the oldest PB, and you are looking at aging. The new leads seem to be on the other side, so this looks like the oldest PB, which will ultimately dry and die, including its leaves :-)

Hi, just bought new cymbidium orchid and noticed that one of the bulbs is not looking 'nice'. It is still hard to touch, just a brownish/shiny appearance. Is it a sign of further problems - shall I remove the bulb?
