I am not sure whether this is a meristem or a selfing - it was not said to be that, so probably the former. Flowers a bit small, and not many of them , but this is the first flowering of this plant. A little bit unusual, I think.
Btw, I snapped it on a pocket camera, when I popped into the greenhouse earlier and found the sun shining through the flower - an effect I would not have thought of for myself.

Pretty Geoff. aurantianca flowers tend to be very small compared to others in the Catt. family.

Of course, memory is a fallible thing ; I last grew this species way back in the days of bare-root, possibly wild-collected orchids - pre CITES, which I think means before 1985. And my memory suggests that the flowers were much larger than this ! Like I say, maybe I have got that wrong.
I also have the pure yellow form open ("Amarillo" I think its called ) - with much smaller flowers again !
But both Amarillo and Mishima Spots are first flowers on the respective plants for me, and likely to flower bigger next time around when they have a few more real, live, roots !
