Default Is it true that ..

I read on another thread that this little guy can bloom itself to death
I guess my question is how long do I let it bloom?
This one has already given me 8 blooms. Should I cut the spike off? if so when??

    V,

Jason is right. Check the overall health of the plant and roots to determine whether to let the plant keep on blooming or not.

I posted the same thread about my paph pinocchio. At that time, it had 10 blooms. Now, it's still going. Got some very good replies from the paph gurus. I will keep letting it bloom till this fall then will hack off the spike regardless. My flower spike is over 3ft tall. It's even taller then the pics I had posted in that thread.

Personally i would let it do what it does in nature , that is to bloom for as long as it likes.
If the plant shows signs of distress(droopy leaves , new growth not growing etc) then i would cut the spike.
Anyways sequential blooming paphs are normally easy to replace so what the heck , enjoy the blooms.
