Hello! I am new to the Orchid Forum, but I am happily exploring many posts for photos, questions and answers, and learning a lot! Thankfully, many of my questions have been answered that way, but one remains:

I bought an Oncidium about a month or two ago. Purchased on sale with beautiful blooms and an extensive aphid problem (which I hear that genus is particularly prone to), but both of those having come and gone. I'm curious why some of the leaves on old pseudobulbs have been cut? This is quite a large plant, and I successfully divided it after flowering. I'm wondering why the nursery would have cut those leaves off of old pseudobulbs... Thoughts?
