Question Repotting mericlone seedling from spag to bark

I purchased a mericlone (seedling?) baby which came in spag in a plastic tube. The plant is only 90mm tall (3.5inch). I removed it from the tube as the leaves were starting to bend at the tips. I acclimatised it with a plastic milk bottle cover. It seems ok but I think I now need to change the medium as I want to use bark. Do I wait or do it now?
Potting supplies on hand are: medium kiwi bark which I could pick through for smaller pieces, perlite, charcoal, lava rock and spag.

    Thanks

It would be best to do it when the plant has or is about to start active root growth.

Yes, wait to see new root growth. Also if that is the pot in the back you plan to move it to I'd say it is a bit too large.
Perhaps some of out more experienced growers can weigh in on that as well.

Thanks. No, not using the pot in pic. I’ve just been using it to hold water for some extra humidity near the plant. When I repot in small bark, what other medium should I use?

If your using an orchid bark mix it may already have some coarse perlite and charcoal in it.
If it is very warm where you are bits of chopped sphagnum will help hold the moisture near the roots also.
I've moved away from sphagnum completely because my climate is cooler but the chief scientist at AOS lives in central Florida and uses sphagnum in many of his plants for moisture retention in the hot Florida climate. I prefer to use bark and water more frequently.

Thanks Mike. It’s straight kiwi bark. I will add some perlite, charcoal and chopped sphagnum as I live in subtropical climate.
